Iced Chai Latte...

My boxes are quickly emptying. My walls have gone from dirty white and sage green, to butter yellow, turquoise, and a nice sandy brown. My furniture is set up, and I've cooked my first meal in my new home (hot ham and cheese sandwich... how grand) My cat has established her new favorite places, and my tiny deck garden has been planted.

It's finally starting to feel like home. I'll have to show you all pictures. :)

By the end of the week I should have internet at home, farewell to my iced chai latte. :(

(By the way, you who have not yet stepped across Panera's doors, go, do it! It's great. :)

I haven't got anything profound, or exceptionally interesting to say. I really just popped in to say that I miss you all, that I've got 800 blog posts in my reader, and that I'm really going to miss the latte's.

And perhaps, since I haven't got anything to say, why don't you all answer a question I've been wondering about.

What genre of books do you read?

Adventure, Biography, Historical fiction, Sci-fi, Romance, Comedy...

And which is better, old books, or new books?

Can't wait to hear your answers, I am asking for a reason. :)

P.S. Anybody know what Blog train is? I received an invitation, can someone tell me what it is?

  1. I read pretty much anything that was written over fifty years ago. And a little bit of fantasy. Non-fiction Antarctica books are good too, :)

  2. Your wall colors sound so pretty!

Panera is wonderful! I was just at one yesterday with a friend.

Glad you are getting settled into your new home.

    Hmm...that's a hard question.
I like classic literature a lot, but I also like books with whimsy and whit such as the Mysterious Benedict Society and I just recently began reading Wildwood.

I like old AND new books.
They both have something to offer.

  3. I read old books, it takes a very special new book to capture my attention.
And I have to say, for the few new books I do read, nothing makes my heart pitter-patter like opening the book to the copyright page and seeing "First Edition"...Why is that I wonder?

  4. I love old books best. Among my favorites are such books as Little Women and any other Alcott, Anne of Green Gables series, Jane Eyre. I also love "kids books" like Betsy-Tacy books, Freddy the Pig books, Little House books. Adventure books are fun as well..favorite: Robinson Crusoe. Oh and comedy! P.G. Wodehouse is brilliant.

  7. I'm glad to hear you're getting settled in. It's so exciting to set up house in a new place! (I hope to be doing some of that myself soon.)

I've always had a special place in my heart for 19th and early 20th century children's literature: Peter Pan, The Secret Garden, Winnie the Pooh, etc.

I also enjoy biographies about authors; I love seeing how each lived life as a writer and how each lifetime was spent.

Adventure books are always interesting, too: Don Quixote, Quentin Durward, The Princess Academy, Beauty, and so many more!

I tend to lean in closer when I read older stories, but every now and again a good, new story catches me.

    I hope that helps! :D

  8. I know what's it's like to be settling into a new place--right there with you and it feels so good. Still have some unpacking of my own to do but it's feeling more home-ey and my kitty is no longer angry with me for upheaving him from all of his former haunts and I just got internet a few days ago so now all is well with the world again. Must post pics when you do get settled.

As to books. I have always loved historical romances --julia klassen being one of my fav current day authors. Can't wait to check out your new blog for some more ideas!
